Chrome - user experience and reputation
Using Chrome highlights one other issue. The speed of site download.
Once one is used to the speed of Chrome, slow loading sites are very noticeable. This is going to be an issue and will impact on the reputation of organisations.
Sluggish sites reflect on the overall competance of organisations.
I remember when we tried to keep image files in the smallest possible size so that they would not slow down the page.
Taking into account what you are saying and that downloading an image is no longer an issue, we can expect to see a new level of concern with lightweight and fast code.
