If HTML is writing, XML is ink.
You need different ink for a fountain pen, newspress and desk printer but its all ink. Same with XML. You need different XML for finance and planetary taxonomy to PR. Alternatively you have to use the next nearest thing and its OK but a bit blotchy.
PR technologies are blotchy. They are not quite fit for purpose but we struggle on manfully and at added cost to our employers but we don't grumble.
Just like the announcement this morning – a huge logistics, writing, re-purposing and distribution PR knitting contest just to announce the results of WPP.
And even then Bloomberg get 31% and BBC 30% hike in profits. 1% is quite a lot. XBRL got it right but the PR words were, well, blotchy. These was no XPRL to get the story right
Sorry to be simplistic (I've come to realise it's my mission in life) but aren't we all using XML? It's just we're not using XPRL.
